Bill Jones, Pastor
I was originally called into ministry when I was 17 years old. It wasn’t until later in life that I decided to pursue that call. Around 2017, I started taking classes through the Lay Leader Academy. During those classes I felt it was time to start the process of serving God through ministry. Licensed in 2020 I have served as Lead Pastor at several churches in the Northwest Indiana area. The foundation of my faith is that God gives us grace even at times we don’t deserve it. We are not perfect, God knows this but still loves us, sharing this simple message is why I do ministry.
Denise Snyder, Office Administrator

My name is Denise Snyder, the Office Administrator here at DUMC. My husband, Christopher and I have lived in Schererville since 1988. We have one son, Jacob.
I am a seasoned administrative assistant, as well as have 18 years of experience as a medical transcriptionist. Some of my responsibilities here at DUMC include creating the monthly newsletter, the Sunday bulletin, weekly digital e-mails, managing social media, and working with all the great volunteers!
Prior to coming to DUMC, I was unemployed for most of 2017. I prayed every day that I would find a job sooner rather than later. I believe it was God that led me to your community in my present position as Office Administrator. Everyone here is amazing, and I have never felt more appreciated.
A few of my interests include country music, building jigsaw puzzles, watching game shows, watching NASCAR races, and spending time with my family. When time permits, I enjoy watching a good football game, no matter the team.
Angie Vandeursen, Nursery Attendant and Custodian
Hello, my name is Angela Van Deursen. I have been the Nursery Attendant at Dyer UMC for the last 14 years, and the Custodian for the last 10 years. My family and I have lived in Dyer since 1999. My husband, Jeff, daughter Emily and son Jacob have been coming to Dyer United Methodist Church since we moved to the area.
One of my favorite parts of my job is watching the children interact with each other and learn about God together. I look forward to meeting you.
